Questions before booking

Rental FAQ

Availability, payment and confirmation are separate steps. No customer should assume a kit is reserved before confirmation.

Does submitting dates guarantee a kit?

No. Online booking is not currently open, so the form records an availability request only.

How is stock checked?

Each physical kit has a shared stock calendar. Confirmed rentals, payment holds, maintenance and turnaround periods all appear busy and prevent overlapping checkout.

What does the standard price include?

One complete rental kit, the configured standard data option, labelled components, the setup guide and remote basic setup support. Delivery and the refundable deposit are shown separately.

What is priority data?

An optional paid data package configured for customers who want eligible traffic treated as priority under the service available on that kit. It does not guarantee a particular speed or remove the effect of obstructions, weather or congestion.

When is the deposit refunded?

After the complete kit is returned and checked. Any proposed deduction for missing or damaged equipment must be explained and supported before the balance is refunded.

Will one kit cover an entire event?

Usually not. A terminal supplies internet backhaul, but a larger venue needs a designed Wi-Fi network. Event requirements are handled separately by Event WiFi Scotland.

What does the customer need?

Mains power, a secure outdoor position and a broad unobstructed view of the sky. Buildings, trees and terrain can reduce performance.

Is speed guaranteed?

No. Satellite performance varies with location, obstruction, congestion, weather and usage. The rental provides temporary connectivity rather than a guaranteed leased-line service.

Who operates this website?

The service is operated by ErskineTech Ltd in Paisley. It is independent and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Starlink or SpaceX.
